About me

I have been photographing and retouching for well over a decade. Most of my editing experience has been with Adobe products, mainly Photoshop and Lightroom, but I occasionally use Topaz products and Capture One. I retouch for other photographers on occasion, successfully adjusting to their style and aesthetic for cohesion of the final product.
Volunteering with Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep has given me years of experience in high quality retouching of skin tone and texture, as well as physical reconstructive editing and retouching. Shooting such intimate images in hospital settings requires changing the overall emotional feel of an image using black and white, shadow and light, and connecting with a family in a very traumatic time. Due to HIPPA rules, I cannot share any examples of my work from NILMDTS. These compositions are in the newborn photography genré and have meant a great deal to me.
I was the photographer for Divine Canines, a dog therapy organization in Austin, Texas, for seven years, from 2016 through 2022. In a volunteer role, I documented their training classes eight times a year, coming back on graduation day to take semi-formal portraits of each therapy dog and human team using a full mobile studio setup.
I take pride in what I produce. Being critical of my own work helps me create and deliver quality images. I function well on my own and also like to collaborate with and assist others. I find feedback super constructive, not taking valid critiques personally and know it’s a great way to grow in my craft.
I have a tight knit family and the most amazing partner in life and kids. We have two sons, 12 and 14, and a special needs daughter, 25. She is the biggest influence on my photography style. She has inspired me to become quiet and really observe the sights and sounds around me and seeing the world from her perspective. For that reason, my
most provoking photography leans in the landscape and macro direction. I currently produce Fine Art Photographic prints and exhibit and offer them for purchase. I teach online credit hours in Photography to homeschooled students internationally and am wrapping up a double AAS in both Fine Art Photography and also in Editorial Photography and Photojournalism, as well as a Level I Photographic Retouching Certificate.
Collaborating with other creatives is always welcome. Inquire about permanent installations and commissioned works.
