I live in the Austin, Texas area with my husband and three kids. We have two amazing young sons and a beautiful special needs adult daughter. I've been in business since 2013. Before I began my journey into professional photography, I was a pastry chef and cake decorator in Austin. I made the move to photography after an unfortunate incident left nerve pain in my working arm and hand. Luckily I am left handed and my shutter button is on the right. When volunteer dog walking at the Austin Animal Center, I realized how few good pictures of the animals they had due to the small number of volunteer photographers on board. I began bringing my dsl camera with me and walking the dogs who did not have good pictures yet. I joined the photography team and stayed there for 2 years. As I began taking on work and AAC started gaining lots of great photographers, I switched gears. I began volunteering with Divine Canines shooting their trainings and graduating therapy dog team portraits. I was able to commit to be there every 3 to 6 weeks for a few hours and take on more paying clients. I am just beginning my fourth year with DC and don't see an end in site.
I love photographing life and relationships from a documentary standpoint and obviously really enjoy working with animals and those they love. I do love spending time with families with small children as well, providing documentary day in the life sessions. Recently I have been offering some art prints for purchase and it has been really rewarding getting to share some of my favorite compositions and subjects.
Other fun facts: I love a really great shrimp taco, tinkering on the ukulele, and have at least 5 knitting projects working at all times, most of which are way more than a year old. Oo, oo, oo...and I love Port Aransas getaways!
I look forward to hearing about you.
